So whats new? Nothing really except that my feet are bleeding from running. This is not a figure of speech- they are literally bleeding. I’m not a psycho who doesn’t know when to stop but halfway through my run I get these blisters and this is really annoying because I’m not even exhausted und far far away from home so I bite my teeth together and keep on running. Now I’m being punished with at least 5 days no running. Watched “Damages” “Tastes like a Ho-ho” yesterday and I’m liking it mainly because of Glenn Close. I haven’t read that many reviews on the show so I wasn’t sure in the beginning whether her character was good or bad. After 4 episodes I still can’t tell. I would say she’s mostly evil (I keep visualising Fatal Attraction) and cold-hearted and this is probably how she’s supposed to be perceived by the audience. But then the writers occasionally throw in scenes with her and her loving husband when they deal with their disturbed son (who how it seems would like to kill his Mother with granates!!!) or when Patty is suffering under sleep deprivation because memories of a previous attempt on her life keep haunting her. During these scenes she is vulnerable and scared for her life (because she’s not yet aware that it’s her son with his twisted mind who would like to kill her…). Well anyway, “Damages consists of 13 episodes of which 4 have been aired. I haven’t done the maths but I guess there will be a more or less clean transition of this show’s finale and the beginning of all the other shows starting in the fall.
I was glad to see two former characters from The O.C., Marissa’s dad Tate Donovan and Summer’s dad Michael Nouri who I also noticed on Brother’s & Sisters during the last episodes. He is playing a friend of Saul - Milo Peterman -who has just left his wife and “come out” and the scene were they meet on Kitty’s engagement party after many years somehow gives the impression that Saul might share that vibe. Don’t you think? I just checked Nouri’s account on IMDB and noticed that he’s starred in several shows but he’s no regular anywhere. I like him and his acting and I’m not biased from his role as Dr. Roberts, no, no, but I wonder whether it’s satisfying for an actor to jump from show to show. On the one hand you have the challenge to get to know new characters and storylines regularly and it definately rarely gets boring but on the other hand you never get to work on one show intensively and get to know your character more in depth. I ask myself whether this is something the acters chose for themselves or whether they are possibly just not famous and popular enough to stay on one show for a longer period. I just read somewhere that he’s also a Broadway actor. This might explain it - he might be working on musicals and in the theatre and might only have the time to appear on TV shows occasionally. I don’t know him well enough to say for sure.
I recently watched the movie “The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants” which I loved!! I’m fond of these girl friendship movies. Another one I watched over and over again was ”Now and Then”. Well, “The Sisterhood” stars “Alexis Bledel” aka Lena (It was strange to see her outside of Gilmore Girls- but not in a bad way), “Amber Tamblyn” -Tibby- who is just totally hot (in a completely unlesbian way for me to say), “America Ferrera” - Carmen and “Blake Lively” as Bridget (Of whom I’ve never heard before until now) It’s about four girls who have been childhood girlfriends forever and are spending their first summer apart. Just short before their departure they find a pair of jeans which fits them all despite the fact that they all have different sizes. They decide to share the pants amongst them over the summer. Each one of them gets to keep it for a few days and then has to send it to the next one, and so on. Every girl experiences a totally different summer and we practically watch them while the pants travel around the world with us. I really liked it and was happy to see that they have already begun to film the sequel.

Long time no write! I blame this primarily on the mass cancelling of 6 of my favourite shows which rendered me into a state of shock, anger and despair. Now that a few weeks have passed and I have had time to mourn extensively and also have taken up some new hopefully long-lasting series I know that life will go on. Summer and herewith the dreaded hiatus for most of the shows has begun. Apart from that my job has kept me exhausted and incapable of writing anything apart from company emails. In order to cope with stress and to balance out all the hours I am sitting at my desk I have taken up running again. This is part of my plan for 2007 to achieve extreme hotness.
I try to run 20 kilometres per week. And results can be seen already. I’m actually thinking about running my first mini marathons by fall of this year. Also, running keeps me calm and I was therefore able to reduce the fights that I have picked with my partner to about 1 per week which is impressive. So much has happened and so much time has passed that I don’t even know where to start. Maybe I will start with a few phrases regarding every show that had its series finale early this summer listed from the intensity that I will miss it downwards, oh and I will not count The. O.C. since I have already dealt with it earlier and will come to speak about it again anyway when I talk about “Hidden Palms”.
The Sopranos: 9 episodes were announced and 9 episodes were aired. Brilliant ones, memorable and spectacularly written, characters were whacked like there was no tomorrow and in the end we were presented with maybe one of the most remarkable series finale’s in TV history. In the end nobody will know for sure whether or not Tony and /or his family were killed in the diner munching onion rings except maybe for David Chase. I read that he had this ending figured out in his head for the last three years. Anyway the Sopranos will not be forgotten (I’m actually rewatching all seasons presently). Something good has ended and the writers were able to end the show on their terms and give every character a farewell storyline even if it was merely to get whacked. I heard there was a new series from the same producers with Glen Close? Might be worth watching.
Veronica Mars: Now this was and still is devastating. I wasn’t really aware that they were planning to cancel the show when the finale aired but I caught up pretty fast and had to learn that the show wasn’t getting enough viewers and therefore had to give its place to “Who’s gonna be the next Pussy Cat doll” or something??? I read in a lot of forums that Dawn Ostroff was to blame but then a few weeks ago I read this article about Ostroff and her career and it became clear that she really isn’t the one to blame for this debacle but the whole structure of the CW and that it would only make profits when producing low budget reality shows that generate a lot of viewers while producing far less costs then normal tv shows. I like how USA’s slogan “characters welcome” fits in here. Unfortunately a lot of viewers love these reality shows.
Gilmore Girls: We knew it was coming and the ending was somewhat predictable. But….at least Dave Rosenthal and his crew managed to give the show a relatively honourable ending. Everybody knows that the show wasn’t the same after A.SP. left and although I guess every fan was sad and emotional while watching the finale episode it still wasn’t so unbearable to see it go.
7th Heaven: Yeah, I had already said farewell last year so it wasn’t so hard. But still it will be missed. It gave me a feeling of security and moreover consistency. It was sort of like Mc Donald’s. You might not want to eat the food all the time but you know it’s there just in case.
The King of Queens: Here we were sort of prepared also due to the totally long (was it 5 months??) hiatus between the first and the last episodes. Bye Doug and Carrie!
Okay gotta find myself some food. I will write about all the new as well as the returning shows when I get back. Yes there’s still hope.

Yesterday evening after working way too long I watched Gilmore Girls followed by Veronica Mars. I couldn’t help but wonder about Rory and Lane’s friendship. It was as far as I’ve followed the first time during Lane’s pregnancy that Rory spent time with her. At least that’s what the producers made us think. I considered it phoney when Rory became all sentimental during the party because the way I see it the two friends have shared no time or interest in each other for the last year except maybe when Rory attended Lane’s wedding. And Rory is so focused on Logan and her career that she doesn’t notice anything else right now anyway.
Lorelai was like the perfect mother and friend to both her daughter and to Lane. She’s obviously keeping herself busy and distracted in order to cope with the Christopher break-up. But I guess they will not keep us waiting for the next L&L storyline for long.
It was appreciated that the whole town was involved in Lane’s baby shower and therefore we had some entertaining moments with Kirk, Loulou, Miss Patty and co. I’m too tired (allergy pills) to recap everything that I liked or that bored me. I liked AmyD’s recap since it pretty much reflects my opinion on “Would you be my Lorelai Gilmore”
To a very brilliant Veronica Mars, I so suspected that Tim Foyle was Dean O’Dell’s murderer and I normally suspect everyone but the murderer so I was happy to see Landry’s assistant go to jail in the end and proud that I for once lay right with my suspicions. From the beginning of this season Tim behaved like he was hiding something and it was just a matter of time until he was accused of some sort of crime. And wasn’t Veronica brilliant during class when she counted one and one together and suddenly realized who the real killer was and kept asking smart questions and it was totally clear where she was heading.
Unfortunately Landry can’t be spoken free of all charges since he “accidentally” killed Mindy Odell on the yacht she bought from her husband’s live insurance money. I am glad that they didn’t drag this mystery on for so long. I just read Jon Lachonis’ post on this episode and he says it became pretty clear who was guilty and who wasn’t so maybe I wasn’t that smart after all…. but I swear I had this “aha! he’s the killer” moment which I haven’t had before on VM so I’m sufficiently satisfied
Oh and I was relieved that Parker at least made an attempt not to date Logan and stop hanging out with him because the last thing I remembered was that Parker and Veronica were friends and at least in my circle of friends we don’t date our girl friend’s very recent ex-bfs.
I totally felt for Veronica when Logan asked her whether he could go out with Parker. Can’t he give our girl a break for a while and for once maybe stay on his own and study for a change?? Well, I guess we will see what happens soon.
I have been reading all about the gossip this week about Heigl not renewing her contract and then about the studio stating that everythings fine and that Heigl will remain a part of the cast and then the news that the cast members have been resenting and avoiding Kate Walsh ever since it was decided that she get her own spinoff. What is it with my favorite show and all the recent negative gossip. It is starting to become annoying. Then I read this post on www.tvaddict.com and it practically put my thoughts into words:
Quote “ Can we all agree that we’re tired of the behind-the-scenes gossip from the set of GREY’S ANATOMY? This TV Addict says forget about Katherine Heigl and the entire cast. The only woman who deserves a raise (and a medal of honor) is showrunner and GREY’S creator Shonda Rhimes. How she manages to keep all these egomaniac actors in check while at the same time turning out twenty-two fantastic episodes is a remarkable feet in itself. ” unquote
By the way I love and totally appreciate that tvaddict.com has the “Farewell O.C. banner on the first page.
It’s Thursday in the meantime and no O.C
Have to sleep now- more tomorrow…

Oh how I love evenings like yesterday’s. I had taped the newest epis of 7th Heaven, Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars and there was no stopping me. I even watched one Twin Peaks episode in the end sort of as a bedtime sweet. Although I do think that 7th Heaven has lost a lot of its original appeal and was kind of dragged into an eleventh season it still serves its purpose and brings me 1 hour of happy time. I think Martin is really hot and should get more screen time. That would be very much appreciated.
Both Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars were very solid episodes. I liked that Lorelai stopped whining and finally stepped up to Christopher. We knew where their discussions were heading and I must say that the scenes involving Christopher and Lorelai were very sensitively written and I even felt sorry for Christopher in the end because he was so understanding although he knew that their relationship was over. I hope they don’t instantly bring back together Lorelai and Luke but give her some alone time in order for her to process everything. I’m glad this storyline has come to an end- it felt wrong all along.
The more I liked Lauren Graham’s character the less I approve of what they did to Rory’s role. Out of nowhere and without a warning she becomes this silly and stammering 12 year old telling her bf she googled the temp professor. How unnecessary was that? Sorry but I’m on Karen’s side about Logan being Mr Big Business. He’s been out of college for what, 4 months? The strongest character this week was definately Paris who is like the best friend ever to Rory and she’s so hilarious. Speaking of best friend - where’s Lane and what kind of rotten friend is Rory for not visiting her or maybe the producers are just not showing it.
All in all a good episode.
I think I will write about Veronica Mars next week when the plots have evolved a little bit more.It was a pleasure to see Wallace again - if only for 15 seconds and I was surprised to see Veronica bake but on the other hand she is probably capable of doing anything.
I just read that Parker Posey will star as a lead in Amy Sherman- Palladino’s The Return of Jezebel James. Read more about it here. I think she’s hot.
I just found this site and I totally agree. Read “Dear Women of Gilmore Girls & Veronica Mars“

Gilmore Girls, TV Shows | February 15th, 2007 by admin | No Comments
Its late already and I’ve worked all day but I just have to spare some minutes for my once so favorite TV show Gilmore Girls which after so many episodes of predictable and boring storylines picked up today and turned out to be surprisingly entertaining and emotional and in my opinion one of if not the best episode of this season.
Apart from some very long and unnecessary dialogues between Logan and Rory at Emily and Richard’s house the dialogues where captivating and brought tears to my eyes for the first time in this season. We all know by now that Emily would react the way she did in the hospital cancelling and rescheduling their plans and buying a life time of fish supplies. All throughout the episode I was waiting for her break-down. When it happenened I loved that the writers didn’t ruin this scene by letting mother and daughter hug but let Lorelai steal tissues for her mother from the hospital gift shop. All scenes with the three generations of Gilmores in the Hospital were well written and I’m totally with Karen Valby that “I’d rather be in Philadelphia” was finally very special. By the way I loved that Sookie instantly started to cook as if there was no tomorrow.
I totally disliked Christopher in this Episode and in the one before that for that matter. I hate that he’s so unreasonably jealous. Lorelai gives him absolutely no reason to be. And I think he’s being way too rude towards Luke. When Luke describes Lorelai the compilation of fish dishes he brought for her Christopher finally honours everyone with his appearance and tells him to beat it.
What I don’t get and what seems so untypical for Lorelai’s character is how she reacts apologizing for Luke being there and that she wasn’t the one that called him and asked him to be in the hospital with her. In that moment I wasn’t sure who I was mad at more. Christopher for being a total idiot or Lorelai for not standing up for her friend who was there for her.
In this scene I hardly recognised Lorelai - she turns into a whiny submissive woman and all her confidence seems to have disappeared. I get that she’s trying to save their marriage but that doesn’t mean she has to apologize for Luke being a part of her life. I hate that Christopher does not even want them speaking to each other. This is so extremely childish of him - that and not being there for his wife and daughter instantly when Richard has the heart attack.
