Twilight, Tudors and more
It’s been ages since I’ve logged on. Summer’s on the way and together with the temperature the mood increases. I’ve been sick for some months now and am gradually getting better. I lost a molar on the way which was frustrating but there are worse things so I’m just dealing with it. Of course I haven’t neglected watching TV which I had more time for than usual since I wasn’t able to run that much or do anything in this direction for that matter. To make things worse my Chinese doctor advised me to do without meat, wheat, oats or milk for a while since apparently that weakens my immune system. So there went everything I loved to eat. Obviously there is worse but still it was quite an adjustment.
Oh, yeah I’m a Twilight fan now. It was bound to happen and I watched the movie first which I liked and then I started to read the books. Now I bought both of the soundtracks which are really great and get you in the mood of the movie. And last week I finally got my Twilight dvd special. Got to support the industry with New Moon on the way. I heard the casting is final and it seems they got a great cast together. All names are listed under news on the Summit’s website I really like must of the characters and couldn’t pick out one favorite although I can particularly identify with Alice and I love Ashley Green playing her. But then again there couldn’t be more chemistry between Kristen and Rob and I also love Esme’s character played by Elizabeth Reaser. When I first saw Reaser in the Movie I was suprised of how much I liked her character and how much I disliked her character in Greys Anatomy when she played Ava. It shows what a great actress she is and I guess that’s a good actor’s intention - that you connect her person with the character she’s playing. Yesterday I watched the movie with the audio commentary by Rob Patterson, Kristen Stewart and Catherine Hardwicke. It is really worth watching and I find it so interesting to find out want happened behind the scenes, how they filmed what, the difficulties, inside jokes etc. I found this article on www.ew.com where Mandy Bierly lists all the bests parts of the audio commentary. So go ahead and read it and then watch the real thing. Afterwards you will know “everything”.
Apart from Twilight I’m also very excited about the new third season of The Tudors on Showtime. I loved the first two seasons especially because of the character of Anne Boleyn played by Natalie Dormer. Last season’s finale was just awesome and really well acted and should have won all sorts of awards. Did itby the way? I’m not sure. Since I’ve only watched the first episode of season 3 I’ve just been able to get a first impression. I like Jane and how she tries to influence King Henry into doing the right things. I heard that Stephenie Meyer originally had Henry Cavill who playes Charles Brandon in mind for the role of Edward Cullen and then later for Carlisle Cullen but he had to decline both times. I think the casting choices both for Peter Facinelli and Robert Pattinson were just right and Henry Cavill has his good place with The Tudors. The problem with historic series is that you normally know whats going to happen except if you’re not well-aquainted with that specific part of history. And is it just me or is King Henry really the must awful King there was back then. Yes I think that is a fact and he had this bad reputation and I’m just really uninformed. But since I am I can go into this season absolutely spoilerfree and excited.
And my last thought for today is this weeks “Ask Ausiello” on www.ew.com I was reminded that my dear “Privileged” has not been renewed for a second season yet and that we won’t know anything until the beginning of May. I hope they make the right decision. Should they renew the season EVERYONE has to tune in. I liked the show from the beginning although I must admit it didn’t have that much depth in the first episodes as it could have had. But over the course of the season the storylines have really evolved as have the characters and it would be such a waste to cancel the show. It is a relief that I’m not standing alone with my opinion and that Michael Ausiello plans to do whatever it takes to convince Dawn Ostroff :-))
So long!
